Optimal Allocation of DG and D-STATCOM in a Distribution System using Evolutionary based Bat Algorithm

In this work, a methodology to find the optimal allocation (i.e., sizing and location) of Distributed Generators (DGs) Distribution-static compensators (D-STATCOM) in radial distribution system (RDS) is proposed. Here, voltage stability index (VSI) utilized location for D-STATCOM, loss sensitivity factor (LSF) method distributed generation. proposed work formulated as non-linear optimization problem it solved using meta-heuristic/evolutionary-based algorithm. The evolutionary-based Bat algorithm used sizes D-STATCOM DGs RDSs. To check validity feasibility approach, two standard IEEE 34 85 bus RDSs are considered paper. simulation results show reduction power losses enhancement voltages
